H&W has known Beatrice Nussberger for a long time: Back in 2004, fresh out of university with a degree in biology, she landed her first job at the Bern office. She then turned her attention to wildlife biology: a doctoral thesis on hybridization between wild and domestic cats, followed by years of work for government agencies, institutions, and an environmental consulting firm—always at the intersection of nature, landscape, and wildlife management. She never completely gave up research—to this day, she participates in wildlife research projects at the universities of Zurich and Geneva. Since early March, she has been bringing this wealth of experience back to the Bern team, where her responsibilities include developing concepts, conducting monitoring, and providing environmental construction supervision. And when she’s not working? She’s out in the mountains—hiking, climbing, or observing animals. We are very much looking forward to working with Beatrice and wish her many exciting projects!
