The Birs Commission strives on the one hand to keep the development of neophyte populations in the catchment area of the Birs under control and on the other hand to provide an effective concept for elimination. On the basis of case studies, we suggest how to deal with different neophyte populations and develop a concept proposal for a control strategy.

We support the Canton of Bern in the conception, planning and development of ecological infrastructure(öIBE).

The section of the Aare between Thun and Bern is characterised by a large number of partly overlapping protected areas. The protection ordinances and the demands of the species that occur and are typical of the respective habitats are partly contradictory. We develop a well-founded basis for the client, on which he can achieve a balance of interests between various national and cantonal protection interests and provide professional input for the planning of measures.
