Ecological infrastructure: an important step towards more biodiversity in urban areas

The cantons are currently finalising their specific plans for ecological infrastructure. The sectoral plans show which areas are already available for the conservation of biodiversity and where further areas are required. However, these overall plans can also serve as a valuable basis for creating starting points for more in-depth planning in settlement areas. The innovation project ‘Implementation strategies for ecological infrastructure’ shows how municipalities can use these starting points for their own planning of settlement ecology.
