Diploma thesis on the phenology of migratory birds in the Western Sahara in Mauritania, supervised by the Swiss Ornithological Institute in Sempach. Postgraduate course in statistics at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology ETH in Zürich. Studied at the University of Basel for his dissertation on analytical methods for analyzing long-term data. Postdoctoral studies at the Petite Camargue Alsacienne research station in France.
